Alaya Tea

Alaya is an Indian, women-owned loose leaf tea company. Our name comes from “Himalaya,” the region that inspired us to build a tea company. After traversing this mountainous area in India’s Northeast, visiting small farmers and tea estates, our founders Esha Chhabra and Smita Satiani were keen to build a company that respects these communities and brings us closer to the beverage we consume every day. Alaya was built to invest in these farmers, the nature in which they work, and the health of tea-growing regions’ ecosystems in India.
