Located in the Atlantic Coastal Rainforest of Bahia Brazil, our 17O acre
agroforestry farm and nature preserve is home to one of the most biodiverse
regions in the world. Joaihú Chocolate is made with three simple ingredients: Organic Cacao, Organic Cacao Butter, and Organic Raw Sugar. We are a Direct Origin, Tree To Bar, chocolate company, sourcing our cacao from our family
farm, Fazenda Boa Vista, delivering our final product in 100% compostable
wrappers. Our mission is to craft the finest chocolate while regenerating
local ecosystems through sustainable farming practices.
Harvested by loving hands, Joaihú Chocolate continues to uplift traditional
ways of life and wisdom. "Joaihú" is an ancient Tupi verb. Tupi was the mother language of Brazil before Portuguese colonization. Joaihú means "to love
mutually". We believe in cacao as a means to share and experience love: for
ourselves, for each other, and for Mother Earth.
